OW! You stabbed me! You stabbed me right in the tonsil!

Well, yesterday was another attempt to control my raging tonsils which are apparently large enough that they may, in fact, eat Tokyo.

Though I'm not sure irradiating them is the best idea to prevent that...

Basically, I had my tonsils microwaved yesterday. Yes, microwaved. And let me tell you it's not as much fun as it sounds. It involves numbing your throat and then jabbing a needle into your tonsil. Once firmly in place the doctor turns on the machine and you have to sit there for about 30-45 seconds while 400+ joules of energy fry the cells in your tonsil. They have to ground you...yes, ground you. And it does hurt a little despite the numbing. You get what feels like a very sharp pain, you can tell it is just frying the hell out of your throat. But the hardest part is supressing your gag reflex and swallowing (yes, taken out of context that sounds very very bad). First, your body does not want this thing in your throat so it produces a ton of saliva and you keep choking. Second, that saliva forces you to swallow and doing that while a needle is piercing your flesh is painful.

The pain subsided fairly quickly but then your throat swells a little. That swelling was pretty much gone by this morning but the back of my throat is still sore and I can still feel a little swelling. It feels like i have a ton of snot in the back of my throat and it's hard to swallow (oh, stop giggling already!).

I have to do it again in six weeks. This better damn well work.
