Don't Heckle The Supervillain

Just stay standing.

Uck. First serious illness of the year has hit me. Been out of the loop for a while. Missed some work (not good). Missed some events (even worse).

BTW: my family is insane. More on that later.

Haven't seen anyone in the group for a while. Hopefully, that will change during the upcoming holiday.

Saw the new Harry Potter movie. Awful. Just should have released it in two parts.

Right now I'm just focusing on staying on my feet. Feeling better.

Not enough ways to say "Thank you."

Last night I was surprised by and treated to a wonderful birthday dinner by a large group of my friends. Thank you so much to everyone who came and spent time. To those who couldn't make it, we were thinking of you as I'm sure you were of us.

One cannot discount the warm glow of spending an eveing eating and talking with friends. Few things are more enjoyable than conversation with smart, funny and irreverent people. I treasure my friends and am genuinely touched by their gesture. It has been a while since I laughed so hard.

Another fun part is trying to keep up with all the different conversations going on at the table. At any one point I was tracking between three and five separate discussion, all engaging.

As if this wasn't enough, they gifted me with my very own copy of City of Villains. As if my addiction to WOW wasn't enough. Now I have another monkey on my back. In fact, this may be their surreptitious way of removing me from the social group all together. Very sneaky! And thank you.

So to sum up! Thank you to everyone! You are wondeful people. I am very deeply moved and genuinely touched.
