Well, it's Valentine's Day again.
My mother sent me a card, I actually forgot the thing was coming up. This is what happens when you don't have a girlfriend to keep you honest.
Anyway, there are two points of interest here.
1. Diamonds = sex. This is pretty much for the edification of the ladies because guys already know it. Hell, look at the ads, they all show pretty much the same scene guy gives girl diamond girl throws arms around guy and makes with the nookie. I thought "Family Guy" expressed it best when it showed a parody of the famous debeers ads in which the silhouettes of a man and a woman show the man giving her a diamond after which she promptly drops to her knees, tagline "Diamonds. She'll pretty much have to." That about sums it up for guys everywhere, we equate diamonds not with deep romantic love but with sex. So ladies, when a guy gives you diamonds he's not saying "I love you." he's saying "Let's bone."
2. A friend of mind was told by his fiancee that she didn't want to do anything big. This is a lie. What's worse it's a trap. Guys know this and yet we fall for it, that's what makes it a GOOD trap. I don't need to expound on this point any more, I just wanted to point it out. So, guys: It's a trap, don't fall for it.
